Mahavira was the founder of Janism. The way of gaining deliverance said Mahavir is by following three rules of conduct
(a) Right faith
(b) Right knowledge
(c) Right conduct- Non violence, truth, respect for property, chastity and abandoning material possessions.

Perfect knowledge and right conduct was the path by which a human being released himself of his Karma and the individual soul could then be absorbed into the Universal soul.
